The Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development is witnessing a meeting to increase the accredited faculties at the university

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, acting as vice president for community service and environmental development affairs, held a meeting at the Network and Information Technology Center at Ain Shams University to discuss the issue of increasing the accredited Facultys at the university, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Rasha Khafagy, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at the university, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ragaa, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, and the deputies of the faculties of commerce, law, science, education, specific education and agriculture, and the directors of the departments of the Quality Assurance Unit in those faculties and Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs

         
   
         

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk said that Ain Shams University is seeking to obtain the university’s accreditation as a whole from the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation, after it was able to accredit a number of its faculties, in addition to a number of programs in the faculties, stressing that the university administration will seek to overcome all obstacles to reach the university’s accreditation as soon as possible.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Rasha Khafagy sheds light on the university's accreditation position, pointing out that 95% of Ain Shams University faculties have obtained accreditation at least once, and there are faculties that have obtained accreditation two and three times, but accreditation is not a continuous matter but requires renewal every period, stressing that The university accreditation file is in full swing.

Dr. Rasha reviewed the steps taken by the Faculty of Commerce to approve its programs, noting that the number of programs in the Faculty is 5, and three programs were selected for application for accreditation, namely the English language program with the credit-hours system, the French language program with the credit-hours system (Accounting and Business Administration) and an Arabic credit-hours program and English.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty, said that the percentage of fulfillment of the accreditation requirements for the programs that will be applied for has been achieved. He thanked the University's Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for its support to the Faculty of Commerce. For its part, Prof. Dr. Rasha Khafagy thanks His Excellency and Prof. Hayam Wahba, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, for the efforts of the Faculty in supporting the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty with human cadres, and administrative and financial support, which resulted in the readiness of the programs.

About the Faculty of Agriculture explained Prof. Dr. Rasha Khafagi said that the Faculty has 11 programs, and 8 of them have met quality standards at high rates, which qualifies them to apply for program accreditation.

On his part, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty, said that all the observations made by the Quality Assurance Center at the university during his last technical visit to the Faculty have been rectified, and that the Faculty is fully prepared to apply for accreditation and receive a simulation visit from the Center.

Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, clarified the Faculty’s position on accreditation and what has been developed and achieved for accrediting the Faculty’s programs, noting that 6 programs have been submitted for accreditation in the Faculty out of 12 programs, two of which have been approved and 4 other programs are in the process of accreditation.

Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education, said that the Faculty is currently seeking to accredit the Bachelor of Science and Education programs majoring in Chemistry and Bachelor of Science and Education majoring in Physics.

Mr. Dr. Muhammad Rajaa, Dean of the College of Science, addressed the steps taken by the college to accredit its programs, noting that work is underway to accredit 19 programs in the college, with the support of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, adding that the College of Science is one of the accredited colleges, and the re-accreditation has been applied to the college again.

And about the position of the Faculty of Law spoke a. Dr.. Ahmed Dahoum, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, said that it is one of the most promising colleges, and that two programs are underway to achieve their accreditation standards and requirements, namely the Bachelor of Laws, French Language Division, and Bachelor of Laws, English Language Division.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk and Prof. Dr. Rasha Khafagi thanked the faculties participating in the meeting, emphasizing the importance of the periodicity of this meeting, with the need to start activating the electronic system for quality and uploading the documents of all faculties to it for easy preservation and circulation of quality documents and linking the Quality Assurance Center to the university faculties.
