A family of students for Central Egypt organizes a workshop on the foundations of photography at the Faculty of Arts

Within the framework of a series of educational activities in various fields and to support students' skills, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hatem Rabie, the "Students for Egypt" family organized today the first practical activities and training programs with a workshop on "Foundations of Photography", which hosted the professional photojournalist Mr. Magdy Ibrahim, Head of the Press Photographers Division, and Head of the Photography Department at Al Shorouk Newspaper.

Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts, gifted him the Faculty shield in honor of his practical achievements in the field of photojournalism and support for the humanitarian aspect, in the press photo and his role in transferring the techniques of this art to students as a valuable applied dose in a short time. Dr. Hanan Kamel, the students, stressed the need to place Egypt at the forefront of their priorities and eyes, and to put the word “for Egypt” as a desired goal for every progress they achieve.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Hatem Rabie, Head of the European Civilization Department at the Faculty and Head of the Students Family for Central Egypt, expressed his thanks and gratitude for the support given by the university headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini for the family and to support its participation in all events and forums held by the university. He also thanked Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs for the family, for preparing academically and professionally qualified student cadres to keep pace with the labor market and to represent the university in the field of student activities among Egyptian universities.

He also expressed his pride in cooperating with the Faculty of Arts to which he belongs, which is one of the oldest beacons of culture and science, and whose scholars represent leaders of the development engine in Egypt and the Arab world in all fields. The academic year 2022/2023 in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, especially in the field of media, through Dr. Mai Zayed, the family coordinator at the Faculty of Mass Communication and the official of the family media center.

The workshop included training students on the dimensions and angles of photography, types of cameras and lenses, and defining some of the terms used in this field, what the exposure triangle is, the elements of photographic image formation, and the difference between them and the press image. He also reviewed some of the functions and features of mobile cameras that would raise the quality and efficiency of photography in light of modern technologies.

While he praised Dr. Abdel Moneim Zaki, Assistant Professor at the Department of European Civilization and Family Coordinator at the Faculty of Arts, pays attention to the family’s attention to students through a carefully designed plan to build educated youth who are aware of the need to integrate into the university community and the various activities offered by the family.

   
   

On her part, Dr. Mai Zayed, that the workshop witnessed a great turnout from all faculties because photography is an art and talent that is refined through training and is not limited to media students only.

It also announced the preparation of several workshops specialized in the media field, which would link students to the labor market and raise their professional competence.
