In a pioneering step of the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University, the University celebrated the graduation of the first batch of students with a hard-of-hearing hearing.
During his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat said that Ain Shams University has achieved a pioneering step. The university administration has challenged all obstacles and difficulties. It has accepted the students of the hearing impaired and their integration with the students in the same classrooms with their peers. Pointing out the efforts of the Department of the Faculty of Specific Education in achieving this high goal in collaboration with the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center and the University's integrated e-learning center, conducted training courses for learning sign language and disseminating it among university students, faculty members and various social groups to achieve the integration of the truly hearing impaired.
Anba Armia added that it is a day that is written in light in the history of Ain Shams University for acceptance by students of hearing loss as a pioneering step before all Egyptian universities and thus presented a successful model to be followed by all universities.
In her speech, Dr. Neven Al- Kabbag supported the Ministry of Solidarity full of those who are inspired and merged with their peers and invest their energies to be active members of society.
Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat, Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid and Prof. Dr. Amani Hanafy, honored the students with hearing loss and a number of faculty members who contribute to community services and various activities offered by the college and a number of researchers and the supporting body.
She also honored Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat in appreciation of the progress of the tender and his efforts in supporting the Faculty of Specific Education during his presidency of the University.
The ceremony included a number of artistic shows presented by the students in the sign language with which the audience interacted. The faculty also presented a number of national songs.
