The Faculty of Engineering, headed by Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Dean of the Faculty, hosted a delegation from the University of Aden in Yemen, headed by Prof. Dr. Khader Nasser Lasour, to attend a training course on curriculum design and accreditation of academic programs.
The delegation included Prof. Dr. Mohammed Aqeel Al-Attas, Vice President of Aden University for Student Affairs, Dr. Salah Mohamed Mubarak Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Aden, in addition to 43 faculty members.
During the course of the course, a presentation was made of the activities of Ain Shams University in order to activate cooperation between the two faculties in various fields such as the Office of International Cooperation and the Center for Innovation and Creativity in the faculty. As well as many lectures and workshops on the axes and criteria of institutional and program accreditation according to the standards of the National Commission for Quality Assurance and Accreditation ABET International, as well as engineering program design skills in accordance with national standard academic standards. In addition, a lecture was presented to ISO 9001.
The training course and workshops organized by the Continuing Improvement and Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Engineering were organized by a group of faculty members at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gamal Hashem Director, Continuing Development & Quality Assurance Unit, and Faculty of Engineering.
During the five days, the delegation visited the laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering and acquainted with the regulations of the college, teaching methods and student activities, as well as attending a number of workshops.
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said that this visit comes in the light of the protocol of cooperation already concluded between the two universities.
Professor Al-Khader Nasir Lasour, President of the University of Aden, praised the scientific and academic development of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, pointing out that this is not strange. Ain Shams University has a history and history that makes it compete with international engineering faculties.
The final day of the visit witnessed the handing over of certificates and the exchange of shields and souvenirs between the two sides.
