The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the College of Arts witnesses the activities of "Our Heritage" Exhibition for Handicrafts and Heritage

Within the framework of the Egyptian state’s interest in reviving traditional arts and crafts, and encouraging new generations of craftsmen and artists to revive this unique heritage, and from the keenness of the community service and environmental development sector at Ain Shams University to encourage handicrafts and heritage, with its cultural and civilizational diversity to preserve the distinguished heritage, a service sector delegation witnessed Society and Environmental Development at the Faculty of Arts, the activities of the fourth session of the “Our Heritage” exhibition for handicrafts and heritage, which will be held at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, during the period from 9 to 15 October.

The visit was under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University and Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Acting Dean of the College of Arts, supervised and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

Prof. Dr. Somaya Sami Sabry, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Faculty of Arts, Member of the Faculty's Environment Committee, and Dr. Nabila Saeed, a lecturer of psychology at the Faculty of Arts and a member of the Environment Committee at the faculty, accompanied by male and female students of the Faculty of Arts, participated in the activities. Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts, expressed her great happiness with this visit.

The exhibition will also host some Arab countries, such as the brotherly Sudan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and others.

The aim of the visit was to learn about the various specializations in the handicraft and heritage industries and the owners of the projects by registering with them and to learn about their experiences in this field and to ask them about their success stories related to their participation in these projects from the beginning and to know the reasons that prompted them to enter into such experiences, the challenges they faced from the beginning and their ability To deal with it and avoid obstacles, especially the people of determination in society and their ability to overcome difficulties and succeed in such craft projects.

As well as highlighting the right of people of determination in work and life by presenting their success stories during the event. The recording was made with several success stories, for example, but not limited to, a group of youth working in the local development program in Upper Egypt and displaying all handicrafts and artifacts of a cultural nature inherited in Upper Egypt, such as antiques, pottery and ceramics dyed with natural dyes and Pharaonic colors, the colors of the Nile completely free of lead

The shawl artifacts depicted in the story of the peasant's life were also displayed as part of his day, and their prices were competitive with the prices of industrial artefacts.

Recording of another success story from owners of determination, a story. Fatima Ali, a graduate of the Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic Language, Ain Shams University, is a champion of weightlifting champions, with her participation with the group of creators, which is made up of 11 people of determination, who participated in the exhibition to display their handicrafts and art of handicrafts of wool, knitting, bedspreads, crochet and others.

The participants stressed the importance of volunteer work and the need to spread a culture of community participation and its positive impact on Egyptian society as a whole and on the youth experience in particular.
