An introductory meeting for the English Department for new students at the Faculty of Al-Alsun

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel-Al, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Sidd Al-Wahed, Head of the English Language Department at the faculty, a department was held The English language at the college held an introductory meeting for the first year students of the two-semester system, who are accepted into the Al-Alsun system in English language and literature.

Dr. Ahmed Siddiq Al-Wahed, Head of the English Language Department, received and welcomed the new students and expressed his confidence in them as distinguished students, and confirmed that the department adopted an open door policy.

Dr. Maha Al-Halawani also began her speech by welcoming the new students, and spoke about the nature of studying literary subjects in general and their importance in developing important issues, and she also urged students to read more.

   
   

She explained that the main objective of teaching literature subjects in general, and its subject prose and story in particular, is to help the student acquire critical thinking skills because it is a necessary and effective method, whether in their academic, professional, or even public and personal lives. the course aims to address and weight with the student.

Dr. Lobna Mohsen, the translation teacher in the department, explained the necessity of the student's interest in both Arabic and English to prepare a graduate capable of translating from and into Arabic.

She explained the branches of translation that will be taught in the first year, as well as the importance of the student's commitment to attend lectures since the beginning of the academic year and the need to pay attention to listening and conversations to be qualified for this labor market, in addition to the importance of working on developing self-learning skills in learning languages ​​and translation.

   
   

Dr. Fatima Al-Meligy, teacher of linguistic studies in the department and coordinator of the Bachelor’s program, explained the mission and objectives of the College of Al-Alsun and the importance and role of the college and the department in preparing cadres that can compete in the labor market locally and regionally, in addition to the college’s keenness to graduate distinguished researchers.

She added that the culture of quality and work on the plan of promotion and development, in addition to informing the student of his rights and duties, and introducing the complaint mechanisms to the students. At the end of the meeting, the professors encouraged the students to follow the lectures on the college platform while answering all their questions.
