Dr. Jans Brandenburg, German Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Verena Lieber, responsible for the Arab-German Academy AGYA, and a high-level delegation from the German Ministry of Higher Education visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, in the presence of Prof. Dr.. Amani Osama, Dean of the Faculty, Deans, Heads of Departments and some members of AGYA Academy.
The visit comes on the sidelines of the Egyptian-German Experts Dialogue entitled "Challenges and Measures to Confront Climate Change and Extreme Water and Climate Conditions in Egypt", which is organized by the university in cooperation with the representative offices of German universities "Free University of Berlin, Technical University of Berlin and University of Marburg".
It has been done by Prof. Dr. Maha Nasr, a professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutics and a member of the AGYA organization, conducted a research lecture on the treatment of Covid-19 using nanotechnology. The delegation expressed its happiness with the cooperation between the faculty, the AGYA Academy and German universities in the research and societal fields.
Prof. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, said that the visit of the German delegation aims to follow up on research projects and equipment in the faculty.
The German delegation praised the advanced equipment in the faculty’s laboratories, and praised the joint research projects, and the delegation was accompanied by many Egyptian members of the AGYA organization. Dr. Amani Osama Kamel confirmed that the German Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research said that he looks forward to cooperation between Germany and the University of Ain Shams and that he will seek to support it.
At the end of the meeting, the Dean presented the faculty shield to the German Deputy Minister of Higher Education, who is responsible for the AGYA Academy. He also gave her a souvenir.
