The launch of the activities of the new academic year at Ain Shams University in the presence of the university president and vice presidents

The activities of the start of the new academic year 2023/2022 were launched at Ain Shams University, under the patronage and presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Major General Ahmed Lashin, Secretary of the University, and a group of deans, deans, faculty members and students.

The celebration of the new academic year began with the raising of the Egyptian flag, then a speech by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, during which he welcomed the new students, expressing his happiness at the opening of the new academic year among his students on campus.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini stressed that holding such exhibitions, celebrations and activities annually in parallel with the educational and research process reflects the university's constant keenness to prepare students scientifically, training and academically.

His Excellency also explained the university administration’s interest and focus on two main axes, namely climate change and its impact on all fields, and how to educate students of the current generation because they are the most affected by it. The editorial in all its faculties on this subject.

As for the second axis, it focuses on digital transformation and its importance as it has become a way of life and not an option. Therefore, the university has since today made a special barcode for each activity to reduce the use of papers while implementing the idea of ​​reusing papers, which leads to preserving the environment and striving towards green transformation, and this will help in the realization of the “Shams be green” smart green university project.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, also expressed his happiness at the start of the new academic year, pointing out that the slogan of Ain Shams University this year is an environmentally friendly academic year, stressing the university’s interest in the climatic aspect as it is a major factor in most of its activities. For this year, the university took into account that Egypt began to lead the presidency of the global climate summit for a year, with the aim of preserving the planet.

His Excellency added that the university adopts the idea of ​​turning green in most student activities, including roving, and in many other activities, so that the reception festival becomes a truly environmentally friendly school year, and not only limited to awareness activities.

As pointed out by Prof. Dr. Abdul-Fattah Saoud who indicated that everything that is used at the university this year has become mechanized and dependent on modern technologies for digital transformation, as the use of paper has become limited to drawings and plastic arts, and the idea of ​​using recycled paper has been applied at the Faculty of Environment, and the faculty was able to draw many models and paper formations on it.

On the sidelines of the celebration, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini visited the exhibitions and activities such as the Plastic Arts Pavilion entitled “Against Violence and Terrorism”, the blood donation campaign, the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Rover and Public Service Pavilion, the Alumni Association, a Family for Central Egypt, the Fund for Integration and Sports, Artistic, Cultural, Scientific and Social Activity, and simulation models of the Department family activity.

The university choir also presented many songs on the occasion of the celebration, then His Excellency and the deputies took many pictures with the students and had friendly conversations with them.
