The Minister of Higher Education chairs the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fund for the Care of Faculty staff and the teaching assistants in Universities, Institutes and Research Centers in its new formation

The Board of Directors of the Faculty Staff Care Fund in universities, institutes and research centers held a meeting headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, today, Sunday, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund, and members of the Board of Directors of the Fund, at the Ministry's headquarters.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council congratulated Dr. Ayman Ashour for the confidence of the political leadership for assuming the position of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, wishing him success.

During the meeting, Dr. Tag El-Din reviewed the role of the Fund, its resources, funding sources, the purpose of its establishment, and its role in providing health care to faculty members and their assistants, as well as the Fund's resources, referring to the Fund's efforts during the previous period, as well as the successes achieved by health insurance in the eight Egyptian universities in which the project is applied. Over 20 thousand faculty members, as well as addressing the difficulties that faced the project at its inception.

During the meeting, the Minister stressed his keenness and continuous follow-up to the Fund’s carrying out the tasks entrusted to it by providing various forms of health and social care to faculty members and their assistants, pointing to the importance of expanding the Fund’s activities for the benefit of the faculty members and their assistants, including providing social and housing services, and Hajj and Umrah services.

The board approved the election of Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund, and Dr. Hesham Al-Manawi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund, and Dr. Atef Al-Awam Treasurer, and the election of Dr. Muhammad Al-Sharqawi, Assistant Minister for Finance and Investment, Secretary General of the Fund, and the Board also agreed to renew the delegation of Dr. Ibrahim Abdel-Aty, managing director of the fund.

The board approved the second phase of the health insurance project, by including the members’ families (husband, wife, children) in coordination with the Misr Insurance Company, for members and universities currently participating in the fund; Provided that universities participate with 50% of their families to activate the second phase of family insurance.

The meeting discussed steps for the development of work in the Fund, and mechanisms for providing health and social care services to faculty members and their assistants in universities, institutes and research centers affiliated with the Ministry.
