The Faculty of Engineering honors the Minister of Higher Education

Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, attended the ceremony held by the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University in honor of His Excellency; On the occasion of his assumption of the duties of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Johansen Eid, President of the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality, Prof. Dr. Abdul Kawy Khalifa, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation and former Cairo Governor, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hamid Shaira, Chairman of the Engineering Studies Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, former Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Husseini Al-Toukhi, former Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, a. Dr.. Sherif Hammad, former Minister of Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amr Shaat, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabbagh, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of Faculty professors, and a number of public figures, at the headquarters of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Minister thanked the family of the Faculty of Engineering for the honor, praising the faculty’s integrated and harmonious educational system, which works on the continuous development of the educational process, in cooperation with prestigious international universities, pointing out that this confirms the prominent role played by public universities in developing University education and scientific research in Egypt, appreciating the role of the Faculty of Engineering in providing technical support to the Ministry.

On his part, Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini expressed his happiness that one of the university’s sons assumed this high position, praising the period they spent together as deans of the Faculty of Medicine and Engineering, and their fruitful and constructive cooperation in developing the university’s hospitals and upgrading its medical facilities.

In his speech, Dr. Omar El-Husseini confirmed that the assumption of Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, of the position of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is a new bright page to be added to the pages of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, explaining that this is a historical series for the children of the faculty in assuming high public positions inside and outside Egypt.

El-Husseini reviewed the efforts of Dr. Ayman Ashour, during his tenure as Dean of the Faculty, helped him develop the educational process, especially in the departments of architecture and planning, noting that the Faculty witnessed the highest accreditation rate for programs at the level of Egyptian universities.
