Ain Shams University hosts the Regional Action on Climate Change (RACC) Initiative

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Regional Action Initiative on Climate Change (RACC) in cooperation with the International Drylands Development Committee (IDDC) and the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) conference during 3-5 September 2022, regarding With the impact of climate change on the different agro-environmental areas, this requires a dynamic assessment of the impact at the local and regional levels, which is directly related to the livelihood of the local population. fertilization, etc.), and the practice of resource management that allows adaptation using the latest scientific outputs, including smart agriculture or modern digital agriculture.

   
   

The scientifically referenced case study will cover the following topics:

1- Dynamic evaluation (simulation modeling, ...) of the impact of climate change on the ecosystems in the various agro-ecological zones.

2- Evaluation of genetic resources commensurate with different agricultural environments resulting from climate change.

3- Defining and updating the appropriate agricultural management techniques for different agricultural environments.

4- Coping and Adaptive Capacity

5- Reviewing the political obstacles to implementing a strategy that would limit global warming to 1.5-2.0 degrees Celsius by 2050.

6- Identifying approaches to mobilizing funds to assist developing countries in implementing appropriate adaptation measures and enhancing their capacity to adapt to climate change.

The conference includes keynote presentations covering the above-mentioned topics, and aims to present outputs to the COP-27 conference to be held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on November 7, 2022 AD.
