Ain Shams University congratulates Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar for assuming the Ministry of Health and Population

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Matini, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and faculty members, the supporting staff and students, extend their sincere congratulations to Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population The new, who was the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar headed the Department of Oral Medicine, Periodontics, Diagnostics and Radiology at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University. He also held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, and the position of Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research before being chosen as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the new Minister of Health and Population, worked as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Georgia in the United States of America, a visiting professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Texas Houston in the United States of America, Secretary of the Dental Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, and a member of the Permanent Promotions Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities.

The Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University, during the tenure of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar as Dean of the Faculty, witnessed a boom in various fields and various development works, as he contributed to the introduction of the latest devices in dental treatment in university hospitals.

Among the most prominent achievements of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the new Minister of Higher Education, is that he won the first place for the best research during the International Conference of the International Foundation for Dental Research "IADR", the State Encouragement Award in Medical Sciences, the award for the best distinguished research at the level of Ain Shams University, and participation in more from nearly 50 papers in the field of dentistry and oral medicine.

He also published 20 research papers in international journals and journals, and served as Professor and Head of the Department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology from 2009 to November 2015.
