Honoring the 29th batch and the exceptional batch of recipients of the international publishing Reward at Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Chairman of the International Publication Committee honored the 29th batch of recipients of the international publishing reward , and the exceptional batch for the years 2018, 2019, 2020, and the professors participating in the Publishing a chapter in a book or publishing an entire book until January 2021, an reward given for the first time this year.

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Osama Mansour, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Prof. Dr. Sahar Mousa, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Amani Osama, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy , Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Diaa, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, deputies and faculty staff.

The number of researches eligible for the reward in the batch amounted to 29, 778 research papers, and the number of researchers reached 954, bringing the total value of the rewards to five million eight hundred and nineteen thousand pounds, while the number of researches entitled to the reward for international publication in the exceptional batch amounted to 609 research papers with a number of researchers up to 779 researchers, with a total value of up to Five million one hundred and ninety seven thousand pounds.

As for publishing a chapter in a book, the number of chapters has been published to 65 chapters, with a total value of four hundred and fifty-five thousand pounds.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, congratulated the nearly 1,700 researchers who received the reward for international publication, stressing that meeting twice a year with reward recipients is a tradition that the university has been keen on for 3 years.

He added that the classifications depend on a number of criteria, including infrastructure, but scientific research remains the basis for any classification, shedding light on the Shanghai classification, which reflects the period from 2016-2020, hoping that next year's classification will reap the fruits of its improvement. And stimulate and scientific production richer in quantity and quality.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini said that the next academic year will witness the opening of the faculties of veterinary medicine and media, and it is expected to add the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to scientific research, which will be reflected in the classifications, in addition to the Faculty of Archeology that was added to the faculties of the university last year, which gave birth to a giant, hoping that the new faculties for scientific research at the University will be added. He pointed out that the new colleges have chosen their programs to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, said that the day of honoring the recipients of publishing prizes is one of the university's holidays, which is held twice annually, as it is the day when faculty staff achieve one of their main roles, which is scientific research.

He added that this year's celebration is distinguished by the increase in the number of researches and researchers, in addition to the presence of the exceptional batch, which was allocated to faculty members and the supporting staff who were unable to submit their research during the previous batches for technical reasons, as they were given the opportunity to present their research, as well as what distinguishes this day is the award of the award to 76 male and female researchers contributed to a chapter of an internationally published book or book publication.

Also touched on Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh pointed to the emergence of the Shanghai University Ranking Result, pointing out that the classification is based on the university's role in publishing from 2016-2020, noting that the development of scientific research over the past two years will have its impact on the upcoming classification.

He also shed light on the faculties of the university that appeared in the classification, pointing out that the faculties of medical sciences (medicine - pharmacy) are the locomotive of the classification, in addition to the emergence of two specializations in engineering, while the faculties of humanities did not appear at the level of all Egyptian universities in the classification, hoping that the year will witness Next there are faculties of humanities and arts within the international rankings.
