The President of Ain Shams University visits the Faculty of Agriculture and the Agricultural Research Institute

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, toured the Faculty of Agriculture, during which he was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Nabil Al-Madani, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the visit came before the University Council convened on the campus of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Infrastructure development work was inspected, and the Central Laboratory of Agricultural Engineering was visited, which is being developed and equipped with modern scientific equipment needed to train agricultural engineering students. The tour also included a visit to the modern greenhouse built on the Faculty grounds.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini confirmed that the Faculty of Agriculture is one of the prestigious Facultys, which is characterized by the presence of scientific research and international publication at a distinguished level, while Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty, described it as a conscious and ambitious administration that was able to create a stimulating work environment, and the curricula witnessed improvements in addition to the introduction of new programs.

After the University Council, the President of the University conducted an inspection tour of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Agricultural Research in the arid regions, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Buhairi, Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galal, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Adel El-Sayed El-Beltagy, Supervisor of Dry and Saline Agriculture Technology Department and former Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ayman Farid Abu Hadid, supervisor of the Department of Protected Agriculture Technology in Arid Zones and former Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Ghani Al-Jundi, supervisor of the Department of Bioengineering in Arid Regions, Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid, Professor at the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture and former Vice President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Ghada Mahmoud Khairallah, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology and Food Safety in Arid Regions, Dr. Yasser Al-Gabri, Head of Control at the Institute, and Mrs. Nashwa Mohamed Meligy, Graduate Studies and Research Officer, and Control Officer at the Institute.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini stressed the supported the administration of Ain Shams Higher University for the institute, and overcoming all obstacles and difficulties to help it carry out its role to the fullest.
