Yesterday, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, received a German delegation from the University of Aachen to discuss ways of cooperation between Ain Shams University and Aachen University. The German delegation included a number of professors who expressed their appreciation for the university's status, their happiness and their keenness to extend the bonds of cooperation.
This comes within the framework of Ain Shams University's interest in opening the horizons of international cooperation with distinguished international universities, expanding the circle of international cooperation and providing opportunities for faculty members to integrate into the international community and exchange experiences with their counterparts in those universities. And Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, in cooperation with the University’s International Cooperation Sector, headed by Prof. Dr. Shahira Musa, an international seminar in cooperation with Aachen University under the title: Dialogue between East and West and Opportunities for Convergence.
Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, said that this seminar comes within the framework of the university’s intensive efforts to open up to all cultures and to extend scientific cooperation with international universities, as the University of Aachen is one of the most distinguished universities in Germany; It is also an opportunity to provide integration opportunities between university scholars and their counterparts from the University of Aachen.

Shahira Samir said that the German delegation consisted of seventeen professors and researchers from postgraduate students at the University of Aachen, who were keen to visit the university in particular to learn about it and benefit from the expertise of the professors at our university. It was agreed to continue consultation in the next stage at the level of the two universities to determine the frameworks of cooperation, in preparation for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two universities.
The seminar program included four scientific papers presented by Prof. Harald Swermann, Professor of History at Aachen University, Dr. Cornelis Holzmann, Professor of Sociology in the Netherlands, Prof. Dr. Tarek Mansour, Professor at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Samer Kandil at the Faculty of Arts, where the papers revolved around the importance of civilizational dialogue between the East The West and its role in correcting the misconceptions of the West about the Arabs, as well as the image of Islam in Europe in the writings of Western historians, and the Arab conquest of Egypt and its importance in consolidating human relations between Arabs and Egyptians throughout history.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Sheren Mazloum, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies, and Prof. Dr. Noha Salem, Head of the Department of Greek and Roman Archeology at the Faculty of Archeology, and a group of professors and graduate students from the Faculties of Arts, Languages and Education.
