Ain Shams University launches the activities of the semi-finals for the projects of the Youth Initiative for Development

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, under the supervision and follow-up of Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, general coordinator of the initiative and vice-dean of the Faculty of Business for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and in cooperation with the Ministries of Planning and Economic Development, Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities, the Faculty of Business organized "the closing events of the first phase of the Youth for Development Initiative".

Where the activities of the semi-finals began to choose the best projects submitted by the faculties of Ain Shams University to choose the best project to participate in the Youth Initiative for Development competition, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty of Business and members of the jury. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Muntaser, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Amr Shaat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Dina Lashin, Director of the Central Unit for the Development of Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Shereen Mazloum, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Lamia Radwan, a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, as an arbitrator, along with a group of arbitrators and members of the supporting body of university professors.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, pointed out that there are many strategic challenges facing Egypt, whether from inside or outside, explaining that development is another challenge among the challenges facing Egypt and the educational sector, and it is a link between generations, specializations and various Egyptian bodies.

He pointed to the importance of participating in initiatives related to awareness and development awareness to advance in all different aspects, especially the educational aspects, attention and support for children and young youth because they are the future, the most active, intellectual, creative and evolving towards what is new and beneficial to progress and advancement.

Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, coordinator of Ain Shams University in the Youth for Development Initiative and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business for Graduate Studies and Research, said that work on the initiative has been started since January 2022, and during this period the participants received intensive training courses from the Institute of National Planning and the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development.

         
   
         

Her Excellency also indicated that the first phase of project qualifiers presented by 19 teams representing the faculties of Ain Shams University, where the teams participated in 15 development projects, all targeting several themes, namely, economic and social empowerment of women, environmentally friendly projects, health system support and innovation to improve public service, in addition to into 4 policy papers targeting the following axes: development and organization of the Egyptian family, training teachers, the new education reform strategy, and reforming the health care system.

She also added that the submitted projects were counted and their conformity to the basic criteria and conditions that must be met in the project in terms of the project idea, summary, market research, business model and other basic pillars. (Power Point), through which the best eligible projects are selected to be sent to the Supreme Council of Universities to represent Ain Shams University in the final competition for the Youth for Development initiative scheduled to be held at the end of next June.
