The Vice President of Ain Shams University inaugurates the "Green Future" seminar as part of the university's celebrations of World Environment Day

In conjunction with the celebration of World Environment Day, Prof. Dr. HeshamTamraz, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development, a opened the "Green Future" symposium on behalf of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Girls for Arts, Sciences and Education at Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Noha Samir Donia, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, Prof. Dr.HebaBarakat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr.HalaAwad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, Prof. Dr. Fayrouz Hassan, professor at the Department of Geography, coordinator of the symposium, Dr. Mustafa El-Sherbiny, ambassador of the European Climate Charter, head of the Million Youth Volunteer Initiative for Climate Adaptation, and a group of university professors and those interested in environmental affairs.

The "Green Future" symposium comes as part of the activities of the Climate Change Week, within the framework of the Green Urbanization Initiative, which is organized by the College of Environmental Studies, and within the activities of the One Million Young Volunteer Initiative for Climate Adaptation (Climate Ambassadors).

During his speech, Prof. Dr. HeshamTamraz, stressed the university administration's keenness and interest in the goals of sustainable development, which the state pays attention to, and the concern for the environment comes within the goals of sustainable development.

He also referred to the Climate Ambassadors initiative, which was launched from Ain Shams University, and aims to educate a larger group of citizens about the climate and the dangers of climate change, and aims to reach one million volunteers.

Six batches of 1,600 volunteers have graduated, praising the support the university has received from the Ministry of Environment at all levels, encouraging male and female students to join the initiative, appreciating the efforts of the facultiesparticipating in the activities of the Environment Week, where more than 6 faculties participate, namely Girls, Environment, Science, Engineering, Agriculture and Arts, which enriches the effectiveness of diversity in dealing with the issue from various aspects.

In conclusion, he stressed the need to reach practical, workable recommendations to be submitted to specialists.

During her speech, Prof. Dr. Amira Youssef said that the symposium is a step that included activities of interest in the environment and sustainable development, pointing to the keenness of the college administration to establish all events that in turn educate and educate students to prepare a generation capable of advancing Egypt and achieving the effective participation of women in society

Prof. Dr. NohaDonia,reviewed the activities of the Environment Week, which discuss global warming and the carbon footprint in a lecture delivered by Ambassador Mostafa El-Sherbiny, Ambassador of the European Climate Charter and Head of the Million Youth Volunteer Initiative for Climate Adaptation and the impact of climate change on agriculture, climate change and aquatic life, as well as eco-cinema, addressing climate change, carbon footprint and green future. Prof. Dr. HebaBarakattackled the subject of climate change and its importance, which comes from its great impact on various environmental, developmental and economic levels, and refers to the university’s efforts in providing scientific environmental studies that pave the way for decision-makers.

At the conclusion of the inaugural session, Prof. Dr. HeshamTamraz honored the Deans and Vice Deans for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the participants in the sessions and the organizers.
