The Faculty of Environmental Studies and Research at Ain Shams University participated in the “National Dialogue on Climate Change and Education Security” forum, as part of the preparations for the COP27 Climate Change Conference, whose activities were organized by transit institutes in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment.
Prof. Dr. Noha Samir, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at Ain Shams University, confirmed in her speech during the meeting, emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of environmental studies and benefiting from them on the ground. A committee concerned with climate change, in which private institutes and universities participate, and it is under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, especially after praising the experience of transit institutes in their effective participation in this field.
She praised the efforts of the Ain Shams University administration, led by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and efforts in the field of sustainable development and climate change.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Dahshan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Obour Institutes, welcomed the guests, and expressed his happiness for organizing this dialogue as part of the preparations for the COP27 Climate Change Conference. The environmental situation in the designs of their temples and facilities, the current environmental situation and climate change and its impact on the universe in general and human health in particular, and at the level of education called for more research related to the field of environment and linking it to the basic specialization.
Dr. Mai Ezz El-Din, Head of the Central Administration of the Environmental Affairs Agency, Greater Cairo Branch, praised the organization of this important dialogue organized by transit institutes in light of the desire for cooperation and interdependence of all national authorities on the issue of climate change, as well as the presence of a laboratory for environmental measurements in transit institutes to serve the surrounding community, and explained The doctor said that the process of climate change significantly affects not only the environment, but affects all economic and social aspects of countries, and reviewed a number of indicators and figures that confirm the seriousness of the current environmental situation worldwide, and how Egypt contributes to cooperation in order to protect the environment.
Dr. Mustafa Ali Ibrahim, Legal Adviser at the Ministry of Environment, thanked Dr. Abdullah Al-Dahshan for this kind invitation and for the transit institutes hosting this important forum, calling for everyone's cooperation for a clean environment.
Dr. Mostafa El-Sherbiny, President of the International Federation for Sustainable Development, explained the international interest and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the field of climate change, and the impact of this change on the shape of the world and human life, and that there is a coming disaster that will occur as a result of massive environmental pollution and bad climate change, and pointed out what is happening in the universe. From changes and dangers as a result of pollution that occurs, whether in the air, water or food.
At the end of the forum, Dr. Abdullah Al-Dahshan announced a set of important recommendations, including launching awareness campaigns to change people’s environmental behavior, shedding light on some concepts and risks related to the field of climate change, and called for concluding a protocol of cooperation between the transit institutes, the Ministry of Environment and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at the University of Ain Shams in the field of environmental research and studies, and called for benefiting from scientific research in the applied field in cooperation with industrialists and academic institutions.
At the end of the forum, Dr. Abdullah Al-Dahshan handed over the shield of transit institutes to the guests in appreciation of their efforts in climate change issues.
