The Faculty of Archeology participates in the 10th annual scientific conference of the university

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh El-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University, participated in a session in the tenth scientific conference of the university under the title of Archeology and prospects for international cooperation. The session was moderated by Prof. Fayza Heikal, Professor of Ancient Egyptian Archeology at the American University in Cairo.

The activities of the session witnessed a lecture by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, the former Minister of Antiquities and the supervisor of the Department of Museums and Archaeological Sites, on the excavations of the Serapeum in Saqqara, and Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Halim, Head of the Department of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities, on Kom Ombo Temple: What is new in the joint cooperation between Ain Shams University and Cologne University in Germany, The session concluded with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Shawki, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs sector, on the excavations of Sheikh Al-Arab Hammam and the cooperation between Ain Shams University and the French Institute of Oriental Archeology in Cairo.

The session recommended the following:

Completion of the database of Egyptian antiquities.

Creating a database of research and scientific messages in the disciplines of archeology in Egypt through the ages.

The importance of developing plans to confront emergency changes and save the threatened effects, whether as a result of natural or human disasters.

Increase societal awareness of antiquities and heritage, especially in the community surrounding the university.

Developing educational curricula in the field of archeology faculties so that the practical aspect prevails over the theoretical aspect.

The necessity of paying more attention to cooperation with the Arab and African sides in the field of antiquities and heritage.Emphasizing the importance of providing training programs in the field of archaeological excavations for undergraduate and graduate students.

Emphasizing the need to study climate change and its relationship to the effects, with the development of short, medium and long-term plans to confront the effects of climate change in the recent period.
