An educational interactive workshop in communication for parents at the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Childhood

The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Childhood at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Center for People with Special Needs in the faculty, organized an interactive workshop entitled "How to teach and help our child who suffers from delayed language development".

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Howayda El-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty, Supervising and Organizing: Prof. Dr. Randa Kamal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development at the Faculty, in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahky, Director of the Center for People with Special Needs.

Dr. Mona Zahni, and Prof. Abdel Latif Ali, a speech therapist at the Center for Special Needs Care lectured at the workshop.

In her opening speech at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Randa Kamal praised the efforts made by the center’s specialists and consultants in rehabilitating children with special needs. Observing it in the early years if they did not possess sufficient knowledge, and in addition, I demanded the parents who attended the seminar to follow the directions that the consultants ask them to apply while dealing with children and to adhere to the language rehabilitation sessions.

Furthermore, Prof. Abdul Latif Ali, in his lecture during the events, said that parents of children with special needs and language delays should be keen on awareness while dealing with children and be motivating for their children, while Dr. Mona Zohni to attend the requirements of language development in children and the stages of language formation and how to develop it and linguistic reinforcement for children and naming everything in the environment surrounding the child such as using a word to describe things and using implicit cards and realistic pictures that are closer to the natural environment.

She also presented some tools that parents can use in training their children.

At the end of the workshop, the specialists and consultants answered all the questions of parents in the field of communication.
