The launch of the Scientific Forum for Alumni of the Faculty of Dentistry

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Association of Alumni Follow-up Unit at the university, organized the Scientific Forum for Graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Diaa Zine El Abidine, Dean of the Faculty and Prof. Dr. Karim Mustafa Al-Batouti, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Reem El Kabariti, Director of Ain Shams University Alumni Association, and Dr. Amira Al-Najjar, Director of the Alumni Follow-up Unit, Dr. Amr El-Deeb Assistant Professor, Department of Conservative Therapy.

In his speech during the opening session of the forum, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Diaa Zain al-Abidin stressed the importance of the forum today, which in turn contributes to the permanent and continuous communication between the Faculty of Dentistry and its graduates to transfer and exchange experiences between current students of the Faculty and graduates of the Faculty in previous years by presenting the experiences they gained from the labor market and the difference between what is taught in the Faculty and its application in the field practical.

He thanked the University for its continuous support to the Faculty and everyone who participated in the forum today and the attendees, praising the activity and excellence of the Faculty of Dentistry in recent years, which reflects the excellence of its students and the labor market's need for them.

As pointed out, Prof. Dr. Karim Mustafa El-Batouti expressed his pride in the excellence of the students of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University and its graduates at the local and international scientific level, which is clearly reflected and clearly shown by the Faculty students taking third place in the AEEDC conference in Dubai 2022, and their second place in the largest competition for student activities at the level of the Republic ( leaders League) which is organized by the Youth Leaders Foundation (YLF) under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

He added that the forum today provides an opportunity to communicate with the graduate to know his scientific needs and the needs of the labor market and how the Faculty can provide this for him, through the Alumni Follow-up Unit at the university, pledging to hold many forums and seminars that bring the graduates together to follow them with all that is new in the scientific field of dentistry and all Scientific innovations and developments.

As explained by Prof. Dr. Reem El-Kabariti said that the management of the Ain Shams University Alumni Association is an existing entity and the largest official association since the establishment of the university in 1950, and its nucleus was formally established in February 2020 with the support and leadership of the university president, and it is a department that follows the international relations and academic cooperation sector that aims to create continuous communication between the unit and the alumni, and to strengthen the alumni’s relationship with the Faculty by participating in conferences, seminars, workshops and other activities, and also to constantly update the alumni database.

She added that the consolidation of the relationship between the university and the graduate contributes, in turn, to the university’s global classification, as well as providing many opportunities for graduates to work and develop their knowledge and capabilities, through the establishment of many lectures, forums, employment forums, presentation of success experiences for graduates, jubilee parties, awards for leadership (such as work Social, scientific research, social impact) and this is all that the Association provides, through the alumni website, as well as many medical, recreational and tourism services through some symbolic subscriptions.

At the conclusion of her speech, she asked the graduates to communicate permanently with the Association to find out what is most important for them to offer and to create a permanent circle of what the graduates need from courses and special needs that the University and the Association can provide for them, which raises the status of Ain Shams University and ranks it globally.

While Dr. Amira Al-Nagar thanks and appreciation to the University and the Faculty of Dentistry for the supportive and lasting effort of the students of the Faculty by holding the forum today, as well as other forums and symposia that work on the interrelationship between the Faculty students and its graduates, asking the students to continuously interact on the page of the Ain Shams University Alumni Association and express their suggestions and polls about the most important Seminars, lectures and courses that can be provided to them through the page.

The forum witnessed several sessions, present and professors from the Faculty of Dentistry at the university, during which Prof. Dr. Khaled Nour, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Saad, Dr. Doaa Adel, Dr. Heba Adel, Dr. Lamia Hussein, Dr. Noha Al-Husseini, during which they discussed the most important new developments in the field of dentistry and what he witnessed, especially in the period of the emerging corona virus, with the participation of many graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University and researchers from other universities, and the attendees were awarded a certificate for attending the forum.
