The Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit celebrates Mother's Day at the Faculty of Education

The Faculty of Education at Ain Shams University hosted the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit in the celebration of Mother's Day, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dr. Radwan Hammouda, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the organization of the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit headed by Dr. Hind Al-Hilali, Executive Director of the Unit, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Amal Shams, Coordinator of the Women's Support Unit, College of Education, opened the symposium Prof. Dr. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the College of Education, welcomed the attendees, followed by Dr. Hind Al-Hilali’s presentation of the mechanisms and objectives of the Women’s Support Unit, the services provided to support and empower the university girl, and the clarification of the measures taken by the university regarding bullying, harassment, or violence, and what support is provided by the university to faculty members Female students and female workers if we are subjected to domestic violence, and what is the psychological and logistical support provided.

         
   
         

In her speech, Representative Dr. Ghada Ali, Deputy of the People's Assembly, explained the role of the Legislative Council in supporting women's issues through laws by toughening penal laws for crimes of violence against women such as harassment, circumcision and forced marriage.

Dr. Eman Nemer, a member of the National Council for Women, Cairo branch, also spoke about the role of the National Council in support of women in all fields and in all places, referring to the initiative to knock on doors through which the Council enables women to reach even in the countryside and the hamlets and the hamlets in Upper and Delta Egypt.

Then, Dr. Hind Al-Hilali clarified the supportive role of the university represented by Prof. Mahmoud El-Metini, the president of the university and the representatives of the various cases of female students and faculty members, as well as the supporting role of the National Council for Women since the conclusion of the cooperation protocol with the council in 2018, and the emergence of the role and leadership of the unit at the university level, not only because it is the first unit established with this name in Egyptian universities, but the successful pioneering role it plays in supporting girls, faculty members and workers in the university.

   
   

After that, the Women's Support Unit honored the Dean, vice deans, guests, Dr. Ghada Ali, the deputy of the People's Assembly, and Dr. Amal Nemer, a member of the National Council for Women, in the presence of the unit's consultants and specialists, including Dr. Dalia Hussein Fahmy, Head of the Music Education Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, Ain Shams University and Dr. Amani Abdel Aal. Clinical Psychologist, Window Training Consultant, and Professor Rania Al-Assal, Administrative Secretary of the Unit.
