The role of the Ministry of Interior in educating young people about the dangers of drug abuse... A seminar at the Faculty of Arts

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, His Excellency Major General Hesham Al Zoghbi, Director of the General Administration for Drug Control, the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Arts, in cooperation with the General Administration for Drug Control, organized a seminar entitled “The Role of the Ministry of Interior in educating children and youth about the dangers of drug abuse.” Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Deedy, Vice Dean of the College of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Brigadier General Hatem Saber, Security Adviser to the President of the University, will be lectured by Colonel Dr. Mohamed Idris, Director of Planning and Research Department of the General Administration for Drug Control.

Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development, attended the meeting and expressed her happiness at discussing the dangers of drug abuse and methods of preventing addiction in the Faculty of Arts, and announcing the initiative of Ain Shams University with the participation of the community service and environmental development sector to prevent addiction.

         
   
         

During his speech, Colonel Dr. Muhammad Zekri Idris, Director of the Planning and Research Department at the General Administration for Drug Control, stressed the importance of the role of youth in facing this danger that may devour the entire community unless it is confronted by all concerned parties.

His Excellency stated that drugs are a deadly adventure that begins with euphoria and happiness and ends with either a crime or death.

He also stressed the great danger of the newly developed synthetic drugs, including voodoo and estrox, which consist of insecticides, cannabis narcotics and harmful chemicals and the role of the fight in preventing drug access to youth by preparing periodic campaigns to protect school and university children, and extending those campaigns to unlicensed addiction centers.
