Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, a support unit Women, in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, celebrate the Egyptian Women’s Day, in the presence of Prof. Hanan Kamel Metwally, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Rasha El-Didi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Sherine Mazloum, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Hind Al-Hilali, Executive Director of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women at Ain Shams University, Ms. Abeer Saad, Director of the Women's Research Department in the General Administration of Women's Culture, a group of university faculty members and a large group of Ain Shams University students, on the campus of the Faculty of Arts.
Prof. Dr. Hind Al-Hilali indicated that the celebration activities include presenting an introductory seminar on the mechanisms of the unit and the services provided to students, faculty members and workers through a group of consultants specialized in the unit, reviewing all services provided by the various committees such as the Psychological Support Committee, the Legal Consultation Committee, the Family Guidance Committee and the Entrepreneurship Committee.
She also reported that the unit is working to direct cases that have been subjected to violence, such as harassment or bullying, and is studying how to manage them, to the university president to take the decisive decision in these issues. She also indicated that one of the forms of women's empowerment within Ain Shams University is the presence of 8 deans, and the Students' Union contains 60% of its members who are female students, and the Union President and Secretary of the Union are female students.
She emphasized that during the era of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, women were able to do much more than in previous eras, as they assumed many leadership and leadership positions in the state.
She also explained that the Ain Shams University unit is the first unit at the level of Egyptian universities, which had the first leadership in this field, and thanked the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, for the support and inclusion of women within the university.
She confirmed that cases of harassment at Ain Shams University are almost non-existent, and reported that the unit in the end aims to provide psychological and moral support to the girl who has been exposed to a problem. The unit also struggles with cases of domestic violence. The unit also offers many workshops, whether with regard to psychological, economic or family problems, and work to find solutions to them.
Dr. Fayrouz Mahmoud, professor of geography at the Faculty of Women, Ain Shams University, former head of the Geography Department and consultant in the unit, added that the importance of community work and volunteer work for the girl and the importance of developing herself and developing her ability through workshops aimed at developing psychological and physical capabilities.
Dr. Eman Gamil, a criminal law teacher, referred to the laws governing issues of violence against women and referred to electronic crimes, and explained how the girl defends herself for fear of falling into such electronic crimes and how to protect herself from electronic blackmail and legal methods to overcome her problems
Dr. Amani Abdel Aal, a clinical psychologist, clarified what is the health prescription through which a girl or woman can generate in herself positive energy and internal happiness by herself, and what are the workshops that target psychological support, such as the Window Workshop that was held after the introductory symposium.
Dr. Dina Howeidi, Director of the Research and Studies Department for Women in the Ministry of Culture and the role of the Ministry of Culture as soft forces to solve women's problems and issues.
In the end, Dr. Hind Al-Hilali honored the Dean, the Vice Deans of the Faculty of Arts and the guests, Dr. Dina Howeidi, and Dr. Naira Sami, the supervisor of the charitable exhibition that took place on the sidelines of the day under the auspices of the unit and honoring the Student Support Office at the Faculty of Medicine, which targeted male and female students at the Faculty of Arts and directed the financial return.
