The Faculty of Archeology signs a memorandum of understanding with the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Eldamaty, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Shouki, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University, signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, where Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Ali, the supervisor of the Department of Museums and Archaeological Sites, and the former Minister of Antiquities, signed on behalf of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty, this came in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Shoki, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Razek Al-Nagar, professor at the Department of Archeology, and a number of faculty staff and undergraduate and graduate students.

         
   
         

The faculty delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Gad Muhammad Al-Kadi, the head of the institute, the heads of departments, and a group of researchers.

The MoU aims to exchange information between the two sides, encourage archeology, academic research and technology cooperation in the conservation and management of cultural and natural heritage, plan and implement academic capacity building programmes, training, fellowships, staff exchange, schools (summer/winter), and research units in heritage management. Maintaining it for staff, scholars and students.

After that, a practical training was carried out for undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department of Archeology and Excavations on the use of radar devices, laser scanning and electromagnetic scanning devices to detect antiquities and analyze the risks of archaeological sites.
