Workshop for composer Qutaiba Al Nuaimi at the Faculty of Specific Education

The Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University is organizing a workshop for the researcher and music composer Qutaiba Al-Nuaimi, who is Iraqi/Belgian, entitled “Polyphonic Partial Grading System, Music Composition and Science of Orchestral Musical Instruments” with the support of the Abu Dhabi Festival, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dalia Hussein Fahmy, Head of the Music Education Department at the Faculty, from February 21 to 23, at the Information Technology Center.

Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed explained in his speech that this workshop includes several topics, the most important of which is musical composition using the innovative polyphonic partial grading system for Arabic musical scales that carry partial scores, as well as how to learn orchestral musical instruments. It also includes an introduction to the principles of this system that has been adopted as a creative approach to Western and Middle Eastern music by Qutayba Al Nuaimi, using the science of counterpoint, by explaining how to compose 2, 3 and 4 sounds for stairs that carry partial steps using the innovative system and how to develop harmonys that preserve the separations Acoustic (3/4 pitch) characteristic of oriental music.

     
 
     

It was confirmed by Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed provided that the workshop includes orchestration and composition within the polyphonic partial grading system, in addition to orchestral instrumentation, counterpoint, and operatic voice, as this system is an additional tool for contemporary musical composition for modern music, related to countless styles and references, it is It provides new colors and orchestral sounds, enhances the oriental musical identity and spreads it around the globe and opens new horizons for cooperation between musicians from all over the world.

Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed indicated that this series of workshops has been launched in several countries Conservatoire royal de Mons - ARTS2 (Belgium) and in the Conservatoire de Lille (France), and will be hosted by the Free University of Brussels Department of Music and Research at the Université Libre de Bruxelles - ULB (Belgium) among others Universities and other music institutes in France, Belgium and Egypt.

The workshops are presented with the support of Abu Dhabi Festival, in the presence of the Belgian soprano Julie Cabebet, the cellist Edwar Hassan Kazem, and the violinist Dr. Marwa Amr.
