For the fourth time, the Faculty of Business team wins the first place in the research competition for certified financial analysts

Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs and the official supervisor of the CFA team at the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University announced that the Faculty of Business team won first place for the fourth year in the CFA Research Competition held by the CFA Society for the year 2022 at the level of all Egyptian universities. 24 Participation in the competition.

Where the members of the Faculty of Business team at Ain Shams University were able, after conducting many financial analysis and forecasting of economic indicators, evaluating international risks and the company’s performance in relation to social responsibility, environmental performance and governance, with the aim of determining the fair market value of an international company active in the health services sector, the subject of the competition.

With this victory, the team of the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University will represent Egypt in the international competition scheduled for next April.

Where Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba thanked and appreciated the administration of Ain Shams University, represented by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Sauod, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz and faculty administration represented by Prof. Dr. Khaled Kadri, Dean of the Faculty, for their support and provision of all material and moral capabilities to support the participating team and the support they provided for various research activities that refine students' skills to make them more competitive in the labor market.

She also thanked the CFA Society Egypt and all its employees for the important role they voluntarily play in supporting students in various research activities.

As Prof. Dr. Hayam Wahba said that the activities of preparing to enter the competition went through many stages, starting by announcing the competition for students of the fourth year, the Arabic language department, the English language, the French department, as well as the students of the third and fourth year with the credit-hour system in both Arabic and English, the graduate students of the Faculty, where the preparation began to choose the team that has represented the university since August 2021.

This was followed by examining the candidates’ applications and then holding personal interviews for the applicants, passing through the third stage, which is a qualifying exam for the applicants and conducting an internal research competition within the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University as a simulation of the official competition CFA Research. Students who managed to reach the last stages were selected to be the team that represented the university in the current year.

Twenty-four Egyptian public and private universities participated in the current year, and the qualifiers ended with the arrival of 6 universities in the second phase of the competition, which was held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in which Ain Shams University represented by the Faculty of Business won first place.

It is worth noting that Ain Shams University, represented by the Faculty of Business, is the only Egyptian university that won first place in the CFA competition four times and previously represented Egypt in the regional competitions for Europe and the Middle East, which were held in London, Dublin, and Zurich during the years 2013, 2018 and 2019.
