Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Amr Khalil, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, received a delegation from the Child University headed by Dr. Noha Al-Rafei, Coordinator of the Children's University at Ain Shams University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Amani Hanafi, the former dean of the faculty and the representative of the faculty at the Child University, where this visit will continue for several days.
Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed said that the activities of the visit began with an introductory lecture to receive the children, followed by several different activities. Dr. Marwa Reda How to make a gift bag made of paper and colors using environmentally friendly materials, and in the field of drawing, Dr. Ahmed Wagih, and Prof. Dr. Shahd Khaled presented drawings from nature and silent nature using different colors, adding that in the field of woodworking, Dr. Amir Zakaria Wooden crafts using wood veneer.
In the field of sculpture, Dr. Abdul Rahman Mansour sculptural works of raw clay, and in the field of engineering perspective, Prof. Dr. Georgios and Prof. Dr. Diaa Yahya draws a perspective of a bulge from the street, as presented by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Salem and Prof. Dr. Amani Hanafi memorizes songs, sings solo, and plays the piano, accompanied by national anthems that spread enthusiasm among the children.
The students of the Union participated in the faculty by helping and contributing to maintaining order and spacing at the time and during the visit and helping the children to move inside the hall while performing the artistic activities.
Moreover Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed said that the Child University project was launched in 2015 as it was able to provide services to more than 18,000 students, as it is one of the mechanisms of the Academy of Scientific Research in this field. The Egyptian university has nearly (45) universities, the most important of which is “Ain Shams University”, which during the first phase in (2015-2016) provided about 190 children, and in the second phase (2016-2017) about 160 children, and in the third phase (2018-2019). : About 140 children, but the project was stopped due to the repercussions of the emerging corona virus, as the fourth and fifth phases have now resumed with a number of about 160 children, and that the program includes children between the ages of 9 to 15 years from different governorates of the Republic, where they are distributed to the nearest university For their place of residence, the program offers various scientific specializations specified by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, based on the International Children’s University Program as the Academy is a member of the European Network for Children’s University.
