Ain Shams University participates in IIOE annual partnership meeting 2021

Ain Shams University participated in the annual meeting of the International Institute for Online Education (IIOE), in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University and Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel Aal, Executive Director of the Education Development Department, and Dr. Dalia Youssef, Director of the Central Unit for E-Learning

The meeting was held via video conference technology, under the title "Transformation and the future of higher education in Africa and Western Asia", with the participation of more than 120 participants from 30 countries around the world, including representatives of partner higher education institutions, UNESCO headquarters, regional offices and international experts in the field of higher education.

During the meeting, the opening of the Egyptian National Center for the International Institute for Distance Learning was officially announced.

In this context, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini expressed his happiness at the opening of the center, stressing the pioneering role of Ain Shams University in promoting the university education system, adopting the latest methods of education and constantly striving for optimal employment of technology.

The center aims to cooperate between Egyptian higher education institutions and build an Egyptian platform for dialogue and exchange of experiences in the field of education, learning and professional development.

It also aims to participate in providing online training courses in the field of educational technology that are in line with the Egyptian internal quality assurance standards and IIOE technical standards for training courses. As well as conducting joint research on educational technology and digital transformation in higher education in cooperation with UNESCO-ICHEI and other Egyptian, regional and international higher education institutions.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, participated with a lecture on artificial intelligence and its applications in medical education, as presented by Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel Aal, Ain Shams University's strategy to ensure quality in the field of e-learning.
