The delivery of the first 3 educational satellites to universities, produced by the Egyptian Space Agency, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and the President of Ain Shams University

Dr.. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed the ceremony of handing over 3 educational satellites to the laboratories of the faculties of sciences at Helwan University, Ain Shams University of Engineering, and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology at the Sheraton Cairo branch, to be the nucleus of space innovation laboratories in (32) Faculty of Engineering and Sciences in various universities Egypt, co-funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Egyptian Space Agency, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed El-Kosy, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, and Dr. Mahmoud Sakr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, and Dr. Mamdouh Mahdi, acting president of Helwan University, Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Media Adviser and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry, at the Ministry's headquarters.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that this celebration comes within the framework of the joint program between the agency and universities, on the localization of space technology in different universities, as well as within the goals and strategy of the state’s plan for sustainable development 2030, stressing the need to continue work in implementing projects affiliated with the agency, cooperation with various authorities and implementation of agreements. scientific agreement in this regard.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar added that the manufacture of satellites is carried out jointly by the research team of the Egyptian Space Agency and the joint university, stressing that the components of the satellites are 100% Egyptian, and that the goal of this experiment is to localize the technology of the space industry in public and private universities, and raise the level of awareness of students towards space technology.

He pointed out that the Egyptian space program set by the state aims to build human and scientific capabilities, help in infrastructure development and industrial development, build space mission systems, explore outer space, and cooperate with foreign space agencies, stressing the importance of cooperation with experienced foreign bodies. Distinguished in the field of space, and the conclusion of agreements with universities and research centers with the aim of forming an academic and applied research base consistent with the objectives of the National Space Program, and to complete the database of researchers and specialists in various fields of space.

On his part, Dr. Mohamed El-Kosy, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, said that (Space Keys) is an educational satellite developed by the Egyptian Space Agency, to be the nucleus of the space innovation laboratory in the faculties of engineering and sciences in various Egyptian universities, in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, explaining that this satellite is provided to 32 Facultys. Present in 26 universities to cover 20 governorates in Egypt, the moon is scheduled to be provided to 5 African countries jointly with the agency (Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Sudan) to implement the African Development Moon project to measure and monitor climate variables.

Dr. Mahmoud Sakr pointed out that this project is part of an executive plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research preceded by many projects, such as: building the capacities of Egyptian university students, and a project to monitor climate variables for plasma to cooperate with some African countries. Space research and development in Egypt.

Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Project Director of the Egyptian Space Agency, referred to many axes of the national space program, including capacity building and international relations, to make Egypt a regional center for space science and technology for Africa, explaining that the educational satellite project aims to activate the national space program to maximize the benefit of Egyptian youth, about advanced technologies to qualify the current generations in various Egyptian universities in all governorates of Egypt, as well as qualifying them in entrepreneurship programs and embracing the distinguished among them to support them to establish startup companies in various fields that serve the space industry by 5 startups annually.
