Applications open for community faculties program in the United States of America

The Fulbright Commission is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Community College Program for the academic year 2022-2023, which is a program funded by the US Department of State and provides the opportunity for Egyptian professionals to attend one academic year at an American community college to build their technical skills in applied fields and enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities. Strengthening their English language proficiency, providing opportunities for professional training, community participation, and enhancing their entrepreneurial capabilities.

Fields available for application:

Information Technology.

The media.

Health, social service, and public safety.

Tourism and Hotels.

Farming.

Applied engineering.

Business Management.

Early childhood education.

Applying Conditions:

To be of Egyptian nationality.

Age range between 21-30 years.

To have a secondary education certificate (technical or general) or its equivalent with a minimum grade of 70%.

Highest degree:

Graduates of the following technical schools and institutes: technical secondary schools, three-year system, technical secondary schools, five-year system, higher technical institutes, two-year system, or general secondary system.

Bachelor’s or BA, in which case the applicant must have a minimum of two years of practical experience in one of the fields available for application for the scholarship, provided that this field is completely different from the field of his university education.

Submit an English language proficiency test from an approved center (please visit our website for details).

The applicant should have no or limited prior experience of studying abroad.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US (J1) visa.

He must have the desire and physical ability (with the provision of necessary services for people with special needs) to complete the entire program including activities or travel that may be specified on any day of the week.

The applicant must reside in Egypt during the application stage, determine the host college, and pre-travel procedures, and be committed to returning to Egypt after completing the program.

Must be able to travel to start the program in the US in July 2022.

Male applicants must have an official exemption or deferment of military service when applying.

The program encourages qualified, people with special needs and qualified women from all governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt to apply for the scholarship.

Required Documents:

Completed application form (including answers to essay questions).

A clear copy of the original transcript (with subjects and grades) in Arabic and English for the secondary stage.

Graduates of universities and technical institutes must submit a copy of the original certificate and transcript of the highest degree they have obtained, in addition to submitting a copy of the certificate and transcript of secondary school grades.

Official English language test certificate with a minimum score of 420 for the TOEFL ITP test, or a score of 36-37 for the iBT test, or IELTS score of 5, or Duolingo 65, or 420 for the English language test offered by Egyptian universities.

A copy of your passport or ID card.

A copy of a previous J1 or J2 US visa (if applicable)

1 personal Photo.

Male applicants must submit proof of their position on military service.

Dates of personal interviews for the qualified: January / February 2022 AD.

Announcing the names of the candidates: March 2022.

The final announcement of the names of the grantees: April 2022.

Program start date: July/August 2022.

Introductory seminars will be held ONLINE via Zoom on the following dates: November 16, November 30, December 7 and December 14, in addition to a seminar to answer applicants' questions on December 21, all from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
