A workshop at the Faculty of Arts on planting roofs in cooperation with the "Plant a Tree for Social Development" Foundation

In light of the implementation of the recommendations of the presidential initiative “Be Green” and within the framework of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development “Egypt 2030”, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hanan Kamel, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Scientific Committee of the Youth Welfare Department and the Faculty Students Union, in cooperation with the "Plant a Tree for Social Development" Foundation, launched a free workshop for students on how to plant roofs, at the Foundation's headquarters in Kobe Bridge.

         
   
         

The workshop targeted 20 male and female students, and the workshop presented by Mr. Nabil Mahrous, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, aimed to raise environmental awareness, promote the concept of environmental protection and preservation by exploiting natural resources, and the importance of returning to afforestation. The workshop’s axes also addressed the importance of agriculture in expelling toxins from the environment. In addition to the practical aspect that included teaching students how to plant and the new methods of caring for seedlings until they become green fruitful trees using “organic” fertilizer to avoid the dangers of chemical fertilizers.

         
   
         

The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Neamat Khalifa, Director of the Youth Welfare Department, Azza Ali, Director of the Scientific Committee Department, Engy Kamel, Head of the Scientific Activity Department in the Department, Habiba Nasser, President of the Student Union and her deputy, Maryam Adel, student Samah Amir, Secretary of the Scientific Committee, and Assistant Secretary Ali Ezzat.
