Tomorrow, the inauguration of the Network and Information Technology Center at Ain Shams University

Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, will open the Network and Information Technology Center, after its complete renovation and development, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Communications, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and representatives of communications and information technology companies participating in the renovation of the building.

The building of the Network and Information Technology Center includes everything related to information technology in one building, as the construction of the data center and the renovation of the building began in 5/2020 and was completed on 9/2021.

It includes new servers, networking devices and network security devices from the Ministry of Higher Education within the Smart Universities project, as well as servers and question bank, networking devices, data center storage and processing units, and computers from the Ministry of Communications for training laboratories.

The internet capacity has also been increased from 300 Mbit/s to 2 Gbit/s (2000 Mbit/s).

The data center serves 19 facilities, institutes, university hospitals, and various university departments by providing high-speed internet. The center also serves electronic exams laboratories in the Faculties of Medicine and Al-Alsun.
