Prof. Dr. Omar Mohamed El-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University, honored ASU Cobot team, consisting of 6 students from the fourth year in the Mechatronics and Automation Engineering Program, who received the second prize for the fastest solution in the competition: AIRLab Stacking Challenge 2021 for robots, which It was held from October 2, 2021, to November 19, 2021. The competition is organized by Yes!Delft, a start-up technology incubator at TU Delft in the Netherlands.
In this competition, students and research teams from all over the world compete to perform tasks related to organizing products and merchandise in stores automatically by using simulation programs and developing their own algorithms to control the “Tiago” robot, a human-like robot with hands and a head. The qualified teams are awarded 4 Weeks to develop an automated and intelligent solution for placing goods/products on their shelves in a simulated environment of a supermarket.
The ASUCOBOT team was able to win the second prize for reaching the fastest solution under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs
