The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Women’s College, Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Department of Biochemistry and Nutrition, organized a symposium entitled (Your healthy food is your way to academic excellence), under the auspices of Prof. Amira Youssef, Dean of the College, and Prof. Heba Barakat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, while adhering to all precautionary measures against the Corona virus.
In the symposium, Dr. Alia Mohamed Salah, teacher of biochemistry and nutrition in the Department of Biochemistry, spoke about the importance of balanced food and how it affects the memory and concentration of female students. In her speech, she focused on the importance of sports and drinking water during the day.
It also dealt with balanced food and the application of the food pyramid to obtain healthy food, while clarifying the importance of healthy food during the study period and providing practical examples of foods and drinks that strengthen memory and activate the mind, and drinks and foods that should be avoided for the safety of memory.
She also answered the students' questions and inquiries. The students expressed their gratitude for the information provided by the symposium, emphasizing that they benefited from the nutritional and health information provided by the symposium, in addition to learning how to prepare integrated meals full of vitamins and minerals.
