As part of the world’s celebration of the International Volunteer Day, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at Ain Shams University will hold a ceremony honoring climate action volunteers on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10 am, who passed the training program for the qualification of climate ambassadors under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, in cooperation with the Volunteer Team Foundation for Humanitarian Action, as part of the activities of the Million Youth Volunteer Initiative for Climate Adaptation, which the college participated in establishing.
Where this program is the leading training program in Africa and the Middle East for carbon and climate illiteracy, headed by Dr. Noha Samir, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community and Environmental Affairs, and Dr. Ayman Sabih, Vice President for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
This comes in agreement with the university’s role in taking proactive measures to enhance capacity building for climate adaptation in individual businesses so as to reduce the carbon footprint of individuals, and raise awareness of facing climate changes by controlling daily habits that cause the release of greenhouse gases such as the use of environmentally friendly products and ways of eating, cooking and riding Degrees and less meat and less chemicals, as the One Million Youth Climate Adaptation Volunteer Initiative plays an active role in mobilizing youth energies towards climate adaptation for individual activities
Where Ain Shams University is preparing volunteer climate leaders in preparation for Egypt’s organization of the Conference of Parties No. 27 in Sharm El-Sheikh on November 7, 2022, on the grounds that Ain Shams University is the first university to teach environmental sciences in the entire region and has a scientific and academic staff that can qualify a volunteer team Climate action to be inspiring and influential in mobilizing the energies of young people towards climate adaptation and contributing to a team of volunteers in climate action in any organizing work for any global event
