Opening of the Tenth International Conference of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Universities Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, opened the tenth international conference of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, which is held in conjunction with the faculty's celebration of the Silver Jubilee and the 25th anniversary of its inception.

         
   
         

The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, Vice President of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Hala Mushir, Vice Dean for Education and Students, representatives of the Minister of Communications, and a number of former ministers, including Prof. Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Education and Local Development, Prof. Dr. Abdul Kawi Khalifa, former Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Damiri, the former Minister of Transport and Communications, a group of former deans and vice deans of the faculty, a group of experts, researchers, students, faculty staff, and the teaching assistants.

During his opening speech, Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, praised the role played by the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences regarding the university's digital transformation file, stressing that the faculty has witnessed a great boom in the past few years in conjunction with the rapid development in the field of information and communication technology around the world.

         
   
         

He stressed that the university is counting on the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences to transform the university into a green, smart university among the fourth-generation universities.

Prof. Dr. Nagwa Badr, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences and President of the Conference explained that the tenth conference of the faculty continues for two consecutive days and hosts experts from different countries of the world from major international universities in the fields of computing, artificial intelligence, communications, cybersecurity and data science, including Prof. Dr. Hassan Abdullah, President of the University of East London in the United Kingdom,

She reviewed the partnership and cooperation with the University of East London, whereby employees of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University can obtain a double degree from Ain Shams University and from the University of East London in the United Kingdom, which raises the status of the college graduates. In the labor market locally and internationally and is reflected in the international classification of the university.

         
   
         

She pointed out that the conference is held every two years, and the research participating in it gets the opportunity to publish in major scientific journals and periodicals, as well as accreditation from prestigious scientific platforms, including IEEE, SCOUPS and others, which enhances the status of scientific research and international publication of Egyptian researchers. It opens the horizons of scientific exchange and exchange of experiences with our counterparts from different countries of the world.

Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail reviewed the most prominent activities of the conference, as over the course of 12 scientific sessions, the conference will discuss many topics related to information and communications technology, cybersecurity, bioinformatics, and others, and 70 scientific research specialized in the field will participate in the conference.

The ceremonial session was concluded by honoring the senior attendees of the conference and the speakers who were guests of the conference from abroad.
