Successful evacuation experience at the Faculty of Nursing

The Faculty of Nursing at Ain Shams University conducted an experimental evacuation operation, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hayam Refaat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Rania Abdel Hamid, Director of the Disasters and Crises Unit at the faculty, Ms. Amani Shaheen, Secretary of the Faculty, Mr. Muhammad Abdullah, head of the civil defense unit at the faculty, Mr. Adel Amin, Head of the Administrative Security Unit, Prof. Ahmed Kholousi, Director General of University Security, and Prof. Mohamed Attia, Deputy Director General of Security and Director of Defense Department.

Prof. Dr. Sahar Mousa said that the experimental operation started at 11:00 and ended at 11:30 successfully amid strict precautionary measures, as the faculty buildings were completely evacuated from faculty staff, the teaching assistants, students, administrators and employess.

Prof. Dr. Sahar Mousa said that the experience was preceded by an awareness workshop for the attendees, where the evacuation process aimed to train the human element to abide by all security standards in the event of any natural disasters such as fires or earthquakes, and to raise the efficiency of the Civil Defense Department at the College in managing any emergency that might occur, and its implementation of a number of strategies aimed at achieving maximum safety.
