Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the university, headed by Prof. Dr. Hesham Tamraz, Vice President for Sector Affairs, started implementing its annual program of school awareness campaigns, which aims to spread health, cultural, social and behavioral awareness in various fields for students of schools of educational administrations in the external community surrounding the university, under the supervision of Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Sector Affairs, in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.
The awareness campaigns come within the framework of the university’s societal and awareness role, which is one of the community institutions that play an active role in serving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030 through the various programs it implements in serving the university’s internal and external community.
Ain Shams University is keen to activate a program of awareness campaigns in schools with the participation of university professors in various disciplines for students of eight educational departments at the level of Cairo Governorate (Al-Waili Educational Department, Nozha Department, Heliopolis Department, Ain Shams Department, Olive Department, East Nasr City Department, The Gathering Department, Gardens of the Dome Department).
Awareness campaigns are provided for primary, middle and secondary school students, as well as awareness campaigns are directed to parents, teachers, social workers and psychologists.
Awareness seminars cover a variety of topics. In the health field, seminars are presented on “prevention of the Corona virus and its modifications, first aid, awareness of chronic diseases, awareness of proper nutrition, personal and environmental hygiene, the harms of dealing with street vendors.” As for the cultural and social field, seminars are held on problems Adolescence what this stage requires and how to overcome it, safe use of the Internet, distance learning and its impact on the educational process, students’ mental health, how to communicate and the language of dialogue with others, safe disposal of electronic waste, how parents deal with students of intellectual education schools, behavior control Emotions in the school community, educational alternatives to methods of punishment.
In the skill field, the seminars address the topics of “the ability to set a goal for a good career future, developing innovative thinking skills, ambition and creativity at work, recycling waste, and good memory for students.”
