Qena Governor praises Ain Shams University development convoy in the governorate

Major General Pilot Ashraf Gharib Al-Daoudi, Governor of Qena, praised the development convoy of Ain Shams University in the governorate, within the initiative of Haya Karima. This came during a visit to the convoy's headquarters in Naqada Center, which was conducted under auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Major General Pilot Ashraf Gharib Al-Daoudi, Governor of Qena, and organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the university, headed by Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the general supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahira Samir, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, where he was received by Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour, former president of South Valley University, MS. Naglaa Bakhoum, a member of Parliament for the governorate, and a number of the governorate’s executive leaders.

         
   
         

The Governor of Qena inspected the medical clinics existed in the convoy, and thanked Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, for the effort made by Ain Shams University, which resulted in the establishment of a comprehensive medical convoy to Ain Shams University for the second time during the same year.

His Excellency also distributed a number of medical and compensatory devices to the eligible residents of Naqada Center, which included electric wheelchairs with a battery, wheelchairs with a side turn, and medical walkers.

During its working days, the convoy resulted in examining 3,547 cases and the dispensing of medicines free of charge to them, in addition to 880 cases of measuring blood pressure and sugar, and 246 cases were transferred to Ain Shams University hospitals.

         
   
         

In the community services context, a number of prosthetic devices were distributed in coordination with the Qena Governorate and the Social Affairs Authority, including 2 electric wheelchairs with a battery, 10 wheelchairs with a side bend, 20 three-legged crutches, 20 walkers, and 20 double elbow crutches.

The work of the convoy also witnessed the organization of (8) awareness campaigns to raise awareness for the people of the region, attended by Dr. Tarek Abdel-Fattah, about women and children’s health, and it dealt with an explanation of the President’s initiative to support the health of Egyptian women, the causes of women’s diseases, healthy food and its importance for women and children, reproductive health problems, and a campaign on the causes of drug abuse, its effects, and methods of prevention and treatment.
