Symposium about waste management in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research

Under the sponsorship of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Noha Donia, Dean of the Faculty of Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, and in cooperation with the Center for Consultation and Environmental Research and the Green Transformation Unit within the "Shams Bee Green Project", the Faculty organized a course on waste management in the presence of Vice Deans for environment in the faculties of Dentistry, Women, Nursing, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Children.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Noha Donia, Dean of the Faculty, explained that recycling solid, organic and biological waste and producing clean energy is one of the new brilliant and creative ideas in an attempt to chart a new and real way to change the environmental situation, noting that this is what the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research started, where it established the Green Transformation Unit within the "Shams Be Green Project". The project consists of nine different programs and units, namely, the “plastic and cane solid waste compaction unit, waste sorting unit, sorting belt, organic fertilizer production unit from organic waste, biogas production unit from organic waste, electricity production unit from wind, a production unit Electricity from solar energy, paper recycling unit, plastic-to-fiber unit and gray water recycling unit. These recycles are done by environmental agents, in addition to a selection of specialized professors at the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, with the aim of supporting interest in sustainable development, rationalizing energy consumption of all kinds, and protecting the environment, and the green economy, which helps to change the surrounding environmental reality.
