Good news for the diabetic child... The opening of the specialized clinic for the insulin pump at the Children's Hospital

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Prof. Dr. Tarek Youssef, Deputy Director of University Hospitals, inaugurated the specialized insulin pump clinic in the Department of Diabetes Unit for Children and Adolescents University Children's Hospital.

         
   
         

Prof. Dr. Mona Al-Ganzouri, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Prof. Dr. Iman Mounir, Head of the Diabetes and Endocrinology Unit, Prof. Dr. Yasmine Gamal, Director General of Children's Hospital, Prof. Dr. Mona Salem, founder of the Diabetes Unit, Prof. Dr. Savinar Al-Habashi, Prof. Dr. Randa Matar, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Isra, Prof. Dr. Abeer Abdel-Maqsoud, Prof. Dr. Nancy Al-Barbari, Prof. Dr. Yasmine Ibrahim Al-Hinnawi, and a number of faculty staff in the department witnessed the opening.

Prof. Dr. Eman Mounir explained that the diabetes clinic was established in 1979 and provides its services to more than 10,000 children and adolescents diagnosed with diabetes annually.

         
   
         

She added that the number of people infected with this disease is constantly increasing, and we can call it the disease of the age, and it affects the productivity of today's children and the youth of the future, and costs the state billions of pounds to treat it.
