A training workshop to implement the interactive 3D virtual lab system for science teaching at Ain Shams University

In the belief of Ain Shams University in its pioneering role in providing a role model and in line with the state’s policy and achieving Egypt’s 2030 vision to develop university education and achieve the state’s vision of digitizing university education in all disciplines and applications that serve university education, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, supervised by Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The Education Development Department headed by Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel-Al A workshop to train work teams in the e-learning units of the faculties (medicine, pharmacy, science, agriculture, girls, engineering, education and veterinary medicine) on the application of the interactive 3D virtual laboratory system for teaching science in scientific faculties in cooperation with the Praxilabs digital platform specialized in developing virtual laboratories.

The training was conducted in the computer lab of the Education Development Department, and the training was opened by Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saoud, through the video conference, where he referred to the integration of the ASU2Learn system and its containment of the latest learning methods, including virtual applications, and its ability to reach the targeted learning outcomes in light of the density of students.

         
   
         

Also, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, praised the role of the Education Development Department is pivotal in developing strategies that serve the educational process.

During the training workshop, Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel-Aal stressed that the application of the three-dimensional interactive virtual laboratory system comes within the framework of achieving the university’s requirements for digital transformation in teaching applied sciences by choosing ideal applications and the latest technology in Egypt and the world, with a commitment to full integration with the university’s e-learning management systems ASU2Learn, as well as continuous training strategies and sustainable technical support that advance the learning process in the coming years, and then provide an outstanding student and an ideal graduate capable of making change and putting him on the path of global competitiveness.

Dr. Dalia Youssef, Director of the Central Unit for E-Learning in the Education Development Department, tackled the clarification of Ain Shams University's strategy in e-learning and science teaching using virtual laboratories and the stages of training work teams in e-learning units and faculty members, leading to student training.

In addition, Dr. Khadiga Al-Badawihy CEO - Praxilabs and the company's team talked about how to operate virtual laboratories through the university's e-learning system and provided examples of some virtual experiments in biology, chemistry and physics.
