Unprecedented success of the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood convoy in Al-Moski district

The comprehensive awareness medical convoy for children with special needs and their families, which was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Childhood, Ain Shams University, witnessed a great turnout from the parents, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Howayda Al-Gebali, Dean of the Faculty and Brigadier General Staff Majed Al-Sayed Harb. The convoy was under the organization and supervision of Prof. Dr. Randa Kamal Abdel Raouf, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, with the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Amani Kamel, Dean of the Faculty and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rola Melad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The convoy, which was held in the Al-Mosky district, succeeded in attracting a large number of those who wish to serve the service provided by a distinguished group of doctors and specialists working at the Center for the Care of Children with Special Needs in various specialties provided to children and their families, led by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahki, Director of the Center for Special Needs Care.

The convoy was distinguished by providing free integrated diagnostic and therapeutic medical services in the field of care for people with special needs, as one patient receives several services from more than one specialty according to the initial diagnosis.

Where a group of faculty members at the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Childhood and specialists working in the Special Needs Care Center of the faculty, signed a medical examination for a large number of children.

The convoy was unique in providing accurate specialties using advanced testing equipment: Dr. Mohamed Bahloul is a specialist in the neonatal care unit at Ain Shams University Hospitals, who interviewed and examined a large number of children using an ultrasound machine on the heart to detect congenital heart defects and valvular heart diseases. Catheterization and heart surgeries.

Also, Dr. Muhammad Jamil, in the neonatal care unit, examined children with an ultrasound device on the brain and abdomen, prescribing the appropriate treatment for them, and transferring them for follow-up, while Dr. Basma Hosam specializes in audiology at the faculty by examining many cases and conducting tests with modern audiological examination devices, early detection of hearing disabilities, diagnosing and treating middle ear diseases and ear pain, diagnosing dizziness and imbalance, detection and treatment of tinnitus.

Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the convoy, where a group of faculty students provided services for measuring sugar and pressure, measuring weight and height, determining body mass index, distributing packages of vitamins and mineral salts, in addition to conducting awareness sessions in the field of nutrition for children and their families.

On the other hand, a series of educational seminars were held in the celebration hall headed by the neighborhood, directed to parents on how to deal with children socially, psychologically, behaviorally and educationally.

The seminars were delivered by a group of professors, faculty staff, including Prof. Dr. Ehab Eid, professor and head of the medical department at the faculty, Prof. Dr. Hoda Gamal, Professor and Head of the Department of Psychological Studies at the faculty, Prof. Dr. Enas Rady, assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Studies at the faculty, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Halim, Assistant Professor, Department of Media and Child Culture at the faculty.

On the sidelines of the convoy, a series of awareness campaigns were held in various fields in the care of children with special needs, including family counseling, children's behavior modification and self-care. The campaigns were met with great interest and interest from the children's families.
