In a pioneering experiment to motivate students to actively participate in the sorting and rational disposal of solid waste, which reduces environmental pollution and creates a green campus, the Graduate School of Environmental Research at Ain Shams University witnessed a celebration of the Green Transformation Unit Shams Be Green to supply a machine to exchange cans and empty plastic bottles with a credit for the phone mobile, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of the University of Community Service and Environmental Development, and prof. Dr.. Noha Samir Donia, Dean of the Faculty.
For his part, Dr. Khaled Ali Shaheen, Director of the Research and Development Department at the Waste Management Regulatory Agency at the Ministry of Environment, confirmed that the ministry will provide technical support for the waste system, separation from the source, and the transformation of waste into materials with a financial return, which creates a sophisticated perception among university students, and teaches them good waste management and optimal handling.
He also stated that partnerships have been concluded with the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research and the various bodies of the waste handling system, such as mobile companies.
