The study began with the first specialized program in the management of museums and archaeological sites at the Faculty of Archeology

Prof. Dr. Mamdouh El-Damaty, Dean of the Faculty of Archeology at Ain Shams University, announced the start of the study with the first distinguished program specialized in the management of museums and archaeological sites with the credit-hour system at the level of Egyptian and Arab universities, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President of Education and Student Affairs; To meet the need of Egypt and the Arab region for this specialization, whose importance has emerged due to the interest of international organizations in preserving heritage, especially UNESCO, and the need to graduate cadres worthy of working in various museums, various archaeological sites and institutions concerned with preserving the national and human heritage and participating in the development of strategic plans to preserve civilizational identity and formulating Policies regulating work in the various fields of heritage, starting from the academic year 2021/2022.

Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawy, Vice Dean of Education and Student Affairs, stated that studying the program grants a bachelor's degree accredited by Ain Shams University and the Supreme Council of Universities, at the end of the program, the graduate acquires the knowledge, professional and technological skills necessary to work in museums and heritage sites, such as documenting, recording, managing collections, organizing permanent and temporary exhibitions, developing educational and recreational programs and interactive activities for visitors, as well as mastering communication, marketing, follow-up and evaluation skills.

This is in addition to the basic study programs in the credit-hour system offered by the Faculty of Archeology, which are ancient Egyptian antiquities, Greek and Roman antiquities, and Islamic antiquities.
