The Digital Technology Program for Spatial Information "Geomatics" at the Faculty of Arts

The Department of Geography at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, will launch, in the academic year 2021/2022, a special program for teaching digital technology for spatial information (Geomatics) with a credit-hour system, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Moawad Badawi, Head of Geography Department.

The program aims to prepare a distinguished and competent specialist in the fields of geographic information systems, satellite image analysis and survey work through training on the latest specialized software and survey equipment.

Graduates of the program also enjoy many job opportunities in the fields of: surveying specialist in the Egyptian General Authority for Survey and private sector companies, geographic information systems and remote sensing specialist in GIS units in government agencies and ministries and private sector companies, spatial analysis and programming specialist.

Acceptance conditions include:

• Nomination from the Coordination Office for the Egyptian General Secondary School and its equivalent, a literary and scientific division of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, or one of the Egyptian faculties of Arts.

• Enrollment in this program is allowed for Egyptian and expatriate students who have a high school diploma, literary and scientific division from the Expatriates Department.
