A great success of the development and awareness convoy of Ain Shams University in Al-Waili district

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Howayda Al-Gabali, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood, Prof. Dr. Osama El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, and the supervision of Major General Mohamed Akel, President of Al-Waili District, and the organization of Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and implemented by Dr. Ashour Omari, head of the General Authority for Adult Education, Dr. Islam Al-Saeed, Director of the Adult Education Center at the university, Dr. Mohamed Kassem, Director of the Literacy and Adult Education Center at the Faculty of Arts.

Faculties of Arts, Nursing, Specific Education and Childhood Postgraduate Studies participated in the activities of the convoy.

The community service program of the caravan was diverse, and it included the provision of a number of educational, health, cultural, scientific, technical and environmental services, as it presented a workshop to raise awareness of the meaning of addiction and its dangers, erasing and modifying misconceptions about addiction, clarifying the correct information about those common mistakes, and presented the damages of addiction and ways to discover the adolescent who is ready to fall in addiction, explaining the early signs, and methods of correct education

         
   
         

The program included the pre-training of 157 male and female students with the aim of developing their skills on how to convince illiterates of the importance of literacy. New classes were opened in a refresher and free system under the supervision of the Literacy and Adult Education Unit at the Faculty to be a nucleus for the continuation of illiteracy eradication activities within the priorities of distinguished services provided by the illiteracy sector Community service and environmental development at the Faculty and university for the people of Al-Waili district in Cairo.

The Faculty of Arts also distributed various in-kind gifts presented by the Egyptian Clothing Bank to the illiterate to encourage them.

As for the Faculty of Nursing, it presented a health awareness campaign that included the detection of chronic diseases such as stress and diabetes, in addition to the discovery of chronic diseases, increasing health awareness of family planning, reproductive health, protection from the Corona virus, the importance of vaccination, methods of preventing chronic diseases, healthy food for diabetics, with the distribution of medicines and some in-kind donations of clothes and supplies. according to the needs of the citizens.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood participated in the convoy by carrying out the examination of children with special needs.

A group of doctors also participated in conducting free medical examinations for the sons and families of Al-Waili district, conducting family counseling sessions and raising medical awareness about the early detection of children's disabilities.

         
   
         

On the other hand, family counseling sessions were provided to the people of the district and an awareness session on modifying children’s behavior and early detection of disability, and the Faculty of Specific Education contributed to the convoy with a workshop for textile printing and designing ornaments within the comprehensive development and awareness convoy of Ain Shams University, which included teaching different methods of T-shirt printing, especially in the stencil style In addition to designing jewelry in simplified methods, with the aim of developing technical skills through printing on clothes and simplified design of jewelry

This convoy came as a contribution from Ain Shams University to the presidential initiative "A Dignified Life" to advance and advance society, especially the districts adjacent to the university, with the aim of serving groups that need support by taking advantage of the university's scientific competencies in various fields and disciplines.
