In continuation to the efforts of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, represented in the community service and environmental development sector, the Faculty organized the second literacy convoy in Al-Mosky district, on Tuesday, August 3, at 9 AM, all the way to Fatima Al-Zahraa Primary School, where the activities of the convoy were launched in cooperation with the Presidency of Al-Mosky District and the Egyptian Clothing Bank, and the General Authority for Adult Education.
Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Community Service and Environmental Development, confirmed that after the success of the first convoy to eradicate illiteracy in the Al-Moski district and measuring its return to the citizens, it was decided to push another convoy to cover the successive needs to complete the process of eradicating the illiteracy of citizens in the Al-Moski district, which is known for the existence of a large proportion of illiterate workers.
Civil society organizations and localities have also cooperated with the Al-Mosky district administration headed by Brigadier Majid Al-Sayed to provide material and moral support and to identify the needs of the various people of the region in order to achieve the desired integration between the university, especially the Faculty of Arts, and the presidencies of the neighborhoods adjacent to the university.
The Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development said that this convoy comes in implementation of the strategic plan of Ain Shams University related to community service and environmental development, which reflects the interest of all officials from the university administration, faculty members and the administrative staff at Ain Shams University to implement the initiative of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, to achieve a decent life for citizens, the first of which is to confront the problem of illiteracy, to raise the quality of life for uneducated citizens, and to support the efforts of students participating in the literacy project with the necessary tools and some in-kind assistance from donors, especially the Egyptian Clothing Bank and the General Authority for Adult Education.
The convoy is held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Temraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Prof. Dr. Ashour Ahmed Omary, CEO of the General Authority for Adult Education, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts of Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Brigadier A.H. Majid Ahmed El-Sayed, head of Al-Mosky district, and the implementation of Prof. Dr. Islam, Director of the Adult Education Center at the university, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Qassem, Director of the Literacy and Adult Education Unit at the Faculty, the Egyptian Clothing Bank, and the Presidency of the Mosky District in Cairo.
