The opening of the training course for imams of the Ministry of Awqaf in media skills at Ain Shams University

The training course for the imams of the Ministry of Awqaf in media skills, which is organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, was opened and lasts for three days, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa, Minister of Awqaf, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, and Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, scientific supervision, and Prof. Dr. Heba Shaheen, Head of Communication and Media Sciences Department.

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Fakhrani, Assistant Minister of Endowments for Examinations and Training Affairs, praised the extent of the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Endowments and Ain Shams University to train and prepare the imams well to know the developments of the times and sciences that will benefit them in achieving their message, as well as providing them with the skills necessary to deal with the media and present religious discourse in a manner appropriate to the developments of the times and communication Effective with the community.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, stressed the value and stature of the imams we cherish in our society and learn a lot from them, pointing out that these courses aim to disentangle the classic concepts and modern perceptions, and how to highlight the verses of the Creator to others in their different groups and cultures, which requires certain skills to communicate with society. With the aim of becoming familiar with the language of the era, which is developing very quickly, and how to manage the dialogue with the other in a cultural and social manner.

Prof. Dr. Rasha El-Didi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development, said that the cooperation between the university represented by the Faculty of Arts and the Ministry of Awqaf serves the da’wah and the homeland, and said that imams are messengers representing Egypt around the world and ambassadors

She also commended the successful selection by Minister of Endowments, Mukhtar Juma'a, for imams in terms of commitment and the splendor of choosing to attend, also Prof. Dr. Rasha Al-Didi praised the performance of the imams in the previous sessions, the commendable communication between university officials and officials of the Ministry of Endowments and mutual cohesion within the framework of renewing the interpretation of religious discourse.

She also thanked Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, for his continuous support for cooperation between the university and the ministry, and thanked Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development, for his continuous push to implement the terms of the protocol and his keenness to achieve high quality in the steps of the training process. She also thanked Dr. Mahmoud Al-Fakharani, Deputy Minister of Awqaf for Training Affairs, for cooperating in holding the training course in a manner befitting the ministry and the university. She also thanked Prof. Dr. Mustafa Mortada, Dean of the Faculty, who spares no effort to raise the scientific and academic level in the Faculty. Heba Shaheen, Head of the Media Department, as well as the good selection of themes and topics of the training course, as well as the elaborate selection of trainers from among the faculty staff of the Media Department, and expressed her deep thanks to Mrs. Iman Mahmoud, the Faculty Secretary, for her efforts in highlighting the aesthetic aspects of the Faculty in its various activities.

Prof. Dr. Heba Shaheen, Head of the Department of Communication and Media Sciences at the Faculty of Arts, explained that the training course includes topics that help imams with their knowledge in developing skills in the arts of speaking and influencing the audience, verbal and non-verbal communication, media management of crises as well as the impact of traditional and modern media.
